Rheological parameters like the viscosity are most strongly affected by temperature. However, other parameters like pressure can influence a material’s behavior as well. Pressures above ambient condition are useful to prevent evaporation and rod climbing. Use high-pressure rheology to describe the flow behavior under high pressure, simulate process conditions, or investigate the influence of dissolved gases. A rheometer with a Pressure Cell is operated liquid-filled or as a gas-filled headspace. The maximum pressure is 1000 bar combined with a temperature up to 300 °C.
