With an additional lower drive unit, the Anton Paar rheometer combines dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) and highly sophisticated rheological investigations in one device. Dynamic mechanical analysis is used to characterize the viscoelastic behavior of polymers like glass transition temperature (Tg). To perform DMA, bending, tension, compression, and torsion are applied to solid (e.g. composites), soft (e.g. foams), and liquid samples (e.g. amorphous polymers above Tg). Additionally, different measuring systems and temperature control units (-160 °C up to +600 °C) can be applied to create the ambient conditions needed for your DMA measurement.
