Dielectric spectroscopy is the science of analyzing the influence of mechanical deformation on the conductivity, capacity, and permittivity of a material. The interpretation of the obtained dielectric spectrum provides information on the structure and behavior of the analyzed material, e.g. detection and monitoring of structural changes in curing reactions. This information is useful for polymers, pharmaceuticals, foods, and also cosmetics. For these kinds of investigations a rheometer with a Dielectric-Rheological Device (DRD) is used within a temperature range of -160 °C to 600 °C. The frequency and voltage range depends on the LCR meter.
